FRIDAY APRIL 11, 2014 (LOS ANGELES, CA) Sandra Echevería (“Savages”) has come aboard filmmaker Cameron Romero’s cast of his upcoming crime/thriller “Outlaws and Lunatics,” penned by writer, John Thaddeus (“Refuge”). Production is set to begin this summer with Adrian Pruett behind the lens as cinematographer. “Outlaws and Lunatics” will mark the first in a slate of films directed by Romero and scheduled to be produced over the next year with releases beginning inn early 2015.
“Sandra provides the perfect contrast for the gritty world of O&L and the idea of working with her in a style of movie that will set apart from her traditional image is one of the most exciting aspects of this project,” Romero said. Thaddeus interjected “She’s going to be a perfect addition to the unique cast of this one. I don’t think anyone else’s vision could give O&L the non-traditional style and texture it needs to bring the universe to the screen besides him [Romero].
“Outlaws and Lunatics” is an action / crime thriller, styled screenplay, with twisted irony and a dark sense of humor. This disturbing, high concept story follows a handful of unique characters, as their interwoven lives unravel and collide, during a single night of uncanny coincidences and horrific consequences.
A legacy in the film industry, Romero has conceived and directed over one hundred commercials for global brands and has been producing and directing feature films for the last decade. Romero’s independent credits include “Staunton Hill,” “The Screening” and “Radical,” and he is currently slated to direct the upcoming “Lower Lake” this year, as well.
